The Dean E. Smith Student Activities Center is a multi-purpose arena located in the city of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Simply called the Dean Smith Center, the arena is used for multiple purposes including sports events and live concerts and shows.
The Dean Smith Center opened in 1986 and can hold a capacity of 21,750 guests. With hardwood floors and plenty of character, the Dean Smith Center is home to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels men’s basketball team.
The Dean Smith Center is named after the men’s basketball coach, Dean Smith, who coached the team for almost 30 years!
Tickets are available to see basketball games as well as concerts, graduate and school ceremonies, conventions, and banquets.
