Boone Pickens Stadium (formerly known as the Lewis Field) is a large open-air football stadium located in the city of Stillwater, Oklahoma. It is owned and operated by the Oklahoma State University. It is also known to locals and students as “The Boone”.
Presently, the stadium has 60,218 seats, however it is constantly being renovated. Since opening in 1920, the stadium only had 8,000 seats and has since expanded to over 60,000 less than 100 years later.
Boone Pickens Stadium is home to the Oklahoma State University Cowboys football team. It occasionally hosts other sports including rugby and soccer games.
